NEW SHELTER ALERT

ARF is moving towards a new shelter building.  The old city "dog pound" is truly inadequate for sheltering animals the way they should be cared for.  Much has been learned in recent years about animal sheltering.  No longer are they simply "warehoused" as in previous years.

The present building is quite literally falling apart.  Our workers do wonders keeping things together, but it is hard to keep sanitary, things are always breaking down, it is cramped and crowded, and the animal areas are depressing to the animal residents, as well as people who come to adopt.  We have been offered a large start up donation by an anonymous donor.  Now we hope to get matching funds from local businesses and corporations in addition to private donors.  If you have any business contacts that could offer us help in attaining our goal, we would be most grateful to know about them.  Please call Bill at (218)525-7382.
